Talking about the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA), It is one of the well-known trekking destinations of the world covering 7,629 km in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas across the Manang, Kaski, Myagdi, and Lamjung District of Nepal. It takes a 200 km drive from the northwest of Kathmandu to reach in Pokhara. we can be reached in Pokhara through air and roadways.
By Air
Different government and private companies provide domestic air services. These flights are operated 7 days a week and several times a day. During peak seasons (autumn and spring), it is most appropriate to book domestic flights in advance and keep re-confirming your tickets. It takes only 25 minutes to get Pokhara by flights. Buddha airlines and yeti airlines are the main companies.
By Bus
Tourist Bus
The tourist bus is an alternative for extremely cheap and relaxing travel to Pokhara. They leave Kathmandu from Kantipath, opposite Standard Chartered Bank at 7 am every day. It is comparatively more comfortable and somewhat faster and safer. Cost varies for A/C and non-A/C bus. In Pokhara, some buses pick up passengers in Lakeside and Damside.
Local Bus
It is the main form of transportation. They are reasonably cheap than flying or by tourist bus. Local buses leave from Kathmandu for Pokhara from New Bus station located in the Ring road at Gangabu near Balaju going to the Annapurna Trekking or Annapurna Circuit Trek. There are direct bus services for Dumre and Besisahar from Kathmandu. Likewise, buses for the Dumre and Besisahar leave from Prithivi chowk bus park Pokhara.
For the service to various Annapurna Trekking region trails such as Ghandruk, Ghorepani, Beni, ABC trek, bus tickets can get from Banglung bus park. it is also possible to hire a local taxi from Banglung bus park or from the lakeside. Annapurna base camp trek, Khopra danda trek, Mardi Himal trek, Ghorepani poon hill trek are few famous treks found in this region. For Going Upper mustang trek we should go through this region.
By Tourist vehicles
This is the best and comfortable way of reaching Pokhara. It is cheaper than flying and basic luxury seat that make travel comfortable.
