International Everest day

Introduction: International Everest Day is celebrated every year on May 29. It is celebrated in memory of the first summit of Mount Everest on this day by New Zealand’s Sir Edmund Hillary And Nepal’s Tenzing Norgey Sherpa. These two famous gentlemen get successful in 1953.

This day will be celebrated in Both Nepal as well as New Zealand in a grand way.

As we also hear about their battle with snow storms and extreme weather conditions to reach the summit of this giant and tallest mountain in the world. This day is now celebrated as well as marks as an important event for Nepal tourism.

How It All Started?

International Everest Day was first observed in the year 2008 after the death of Sir Edmund Hillary. Since, after that, we celebrate May 29 as International Everest day In Nepal admiring the achievements made by two climbers Sir Edmund as well as Tenzing.

The International Everest day celebrate by organizing different events to promote Nepal tourism. Different kinds of events and Programs organize in the Everest region and the capital city of Nepal.

Different people from a different country, Ministers, Local businessman, climbers, and Sherpa attends the events and remember the achievements of those people.

What did they do in New Zealand?

Today (29 May) like in Nepal, people in New Zealand also celebrate by organizing different events as well as remembering the achievements made by Sir Edmund and Tenzing Norgey.

International Everest Day will be celebrated in grand style in New Zealand too. They are organizing the events in six different venues and start on 28 May till 31 May 2022.

Everest Marathon 2022

Every year on the same date may 29 people in the Everest region organize the Everest marathon. They organize full marathons and half marathons. The half marathon start from Chukkung and ends in Namchebazar whereas the full marathon start from Everest base camp ad end in the Sherpa capital Namchebazar.

Many people visit this Khambu doing Everest base camp trek. some people even visit by using the Everest base camp luxury trek whereas some people visit by using the yoga stay trek to base camp. Some of the luxury people have less time to use the Everest base camp Helicopter tour.

Magic Himalaya Treks on International Everest Day

On This international Everest Day (Today) magic Himalaya treks also take part in this event held in Nepal Academy, Kalimadi, Kathmandu, Nepal. It is celebrated with the banner written 15th International Sagarmatha (Everest) Day 22.

The main organizers of this event are Nepal Airlines, and the Trekking Agency Associations of Nepal (TAAN). There are also other organizers such as the Village Tourism Forum of Nepal (VITOF), PATA, NMA, NATHM as well as all tourism Associations.
