The fantastic experience trek
I spent a fantastic couple of weeks in Nepal trekking. Ebc trekking form Lukla to Everest Base Camp with three friends. The best guides you will ever be lucky enough to meet. From the start of our trip, Shanta made everything so easy, interesting, fun and enjoyable. He picked us up at the airport, had accommodation in Kathmandu sorted. Then he invited us to dinner at their family home, which was unbelievably kind. Shanta made sorting trekking gear very easy. He helped us with our bartering as well as taking us to good local restaurants to eat and drink.
Ebc trekking itself was quite honestly one of the best things I have done, and likely will do, in my life. The scenery was fantastic and while it was a tough challenge. It was certainly very doable with our expert guide to plan our expedition and help us acclimatize. He was very knowledgeable of the various mountains and were great to talk to along the way. Shanta is always walking with our group, to make sure we were safe and happy. The same could not be said for other guides we saw who seemed to abandon their guests at certain points. At each guesthouse along the way, they would sort our accommodation and meals. Likewise, he even manages to procure the odd hot shower in Namche Bazaar.
Shanta always made sure we were comfortable and had plenty to eat and were warm enough. We have a lot of fun with them and made firm friends, keeping in touch since the trek. Shanta is extremely generous with time and was happy to show us around Kathmandu either side of the trek. It wasn’t even part of their payment. In short, you would be a fool not to trek with Shanta and Magic Himalaya Treks. I will most definitely be trekking with them again in the future in Nepal.
