Kanchanjunga region is the less travel area in eastern Nepal. The Highest Mountain in this area is Mount Kanchanjunga. It is also the 3rd Highest Mountain in the world. Mt. Kanchanjunga is 8586 meters above sea level. The main highlight of this region is Kanchanjunga Himalayan range and Jannu Mountain (7710 m). The trek is through the rhododendrons forests. The contracts between jungle and glacier of the mountain make this region fascinating. Kanchanjunga region is the home of Rhododendrons forests as well as the snow leopard.
Valley, Pass, and mountain
The higher valley is divided into two different valleys. Oktang is the southern valley and Pengpema is another one. Both this valley spectacular viewpoint. On the southern side, we can see Jannu (7710 m), Kokthang (6148 m), Rathong (6678 m). We will also see Kabru range as well as Kanchenjunga ranges. In northern side Pengpema (5150 m) we can see a full circular view of Kanchanjunga (8586 M) as well as Kangbachen (7903 m). We can see Ramtang peak (6601 m), Taple Sikhar (6341 m), Nepal Chuli (6910 m) as well as Kirat Chuli (7365 m).
To do Kanchanjunga region trek we need to pay USD 10 per week. We don’t need to have a TIMS card for doing the trek for this reason.
