Humla Limi Valley Trek is one of the most amazing treks in Nepal. This trek gives a glimpse of the mystical land of Tibet. This trek was opened to foreigners in 2002, as the area borders Tibet in the far west of Nepal. Humla Limi Valley is concealed profoundly within the Himalayas of Western. It is culturally diverse, occupying in the northern highlands by Bhotias, and in the southern valleys by the Khasas. The untouched sights of Humla Limi Valley Trek more than make up for exciting and challenging hiking with some long days.
In the language of Tibet, ‘le’ means “land between two rivers”, and ‘mi’ means “people”. Therefore, the name Limi Valley is after the people living on land between two rivers. The local people believe that Tibetan people crossed onto this land. They came for business purposes and later settled here. That is why, the Limi Valley is still culturally connected with Tibet, and the local people still trade with Tibet. They particularly trade wooden handicrafts and hand-made goods.
The trek to Humla Limi Valley starts by following the Karnali River. This route mostly stays on the ancient salt trade route. During this trek, you will have a chance to spot some animals. People can see the snow leopard, Himalayan blue sheep, and musk deer. You will pass through authentic, small Buddhist villages along the way. Mostly camp will be in amazing spots amidst the snow-capped mountains.
Accommodations on Humla Limi Valley trekking
Magic Himalaya provides the best as well as most comfortable accommodation. Accommodation is mostly on a teahouse/lodge, a homestay as well as camping. Accommodations can be shared or a single supplement will be provided on request. We will arrange rooms with attached washrooms. However, guesthouses/teahouses in some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. As we ascend higher there is not much access to services. It might be difficult to single-share rooms at higher elevations. Packages are possible for camping. Our Company is a good operator of the camping trek too.
